This is such an amateur manner of story. The writing is so banal. And so perfunctory. And utterly without charm or emotion. One of the poorest offerings I've read in contempo times.
The master characters... Identikit.
This book was written in alternating chapters that related the third person perspective of ii sisters... But in that location was no difference between the sisters. Aught (other than their names) that fabricated their experiences and opinions feel unique to them.
And the plot.
Omg so boooooooring. It'southward basically a ho-hum conditions report. And a laughable one at that. Plus so much melodrama that I tin can't.
I 2nd the sisters love each other, and so they are pointlessly screaming cats and dogs, so information technology's dorsum to love... *eye roll*
I mean I get information technology. Family life is one groovy rollercoaster but this just felt illogical. There was discontent that appeared at seemingly random moments in an attempt to create tension simply so it simpered out almost equally quickly as it was congenital upward... And also because the characters were then incredibly one dimensional information technology all seemed rather ludicrous.
And don't get me started on the 2 male love interests. Interchangeable basically. They had different names simply may too accept been the aforementioned guy then underdeveloped they were.
At least the volume was short I estimate. That's a major plus signal. The torture didn't last as well long.
This book made me feel similar a grinch rather than a joyous Christmas reveller.
I just lol to think that this is supposedly an comeback on this author's writing because I tin can't even imagine how prosaic her breakout book The Kissing Booth must be!

For me, this novel read as an average and quick Christmas read. There wasn't anything that made the story more than that and information technology will easily be forgotten. Although that sounds rather harsh, it's not necessarily a bad thing because the novel did serve its purpose of being entertaining.
I could see this novel being adjusted into a pic (Hallmark, Netflix, or Lifetime....option it upwards) and existence rather enjoyable just as for a novel, it's 1 that can be read once and enjoyed without leaving a lasting impression.

I'm not usually one for Christmas themed books even during the season, simply hither I am at the end of August having just finished one . . .And this was cute. I don't think the fact that it'south not Christmas impacted my reading at all, considering it set the scene well - the Christmas habiliment, decorations, crazy weather and the manic of public transport!
The dual perspectives worked really well. At the start, I was a bit confused on whose indicate of view information technology was (it seemed like a 3rd person strict narrator...for both of them at once??) but a few chapters in and I settled in to the flow of things.
I liked both Cara and Eloise, and that they each had their ain individual storylines that eventually came together. However, I felt sometimes information technology lacked any truthful depth - it just felt and then fast paced and quick that I don't think there was time to explore deep in to these characters.
And that's fine, I guess, because this was just a lite-hearted Christmas read but I still recall it'due south pitiful that it missed out on fleshing out and layering the characters and their storylines - unfulfilled potential!
This is author Beth Reekles first adult novel, and I have to say, having read one of her early YA'south (The Kissing Booth, as it was publishing on Wattpad and then after) and Rolling Die (I couldn't finish it), that her writing has improved and I think she does much better working on developed novels than immature adults. I'g expecting good things in the future.

How on world take I finished this volume already? I swear I've but just started it, the writing was flowing so well and its so pleasurable to read, that I seemed to be reading large chunks of the volume without really noticing, or spending much fourth dimension doing so.I do dearest a fast to read book, and when it contains a story as delightful equally this one you are onto a winner.
The master question in this volume is whether or not Eloise and twin sister Cara will actually be together on Christmas day. Nosotros see the countdown to the twenty-four hours from both points of view. Cara is a workaholic going for promotion in London .Eloise is a instructor in Doncaster, and it turns out their parents are going on a wintertime sun holiday this Christmas.
Trouble is Cara is exhibiting scrooge like tendencies, and some of the conversations betwixt the twins could be painful. She seems reluctant to commit to spending any part of the holidays with her sister, preferring to work instead.
Whereas Eloise is struggling with things herself only slowly gets to know her neighbour who may not really be every bit grumpy as he appears.
I loved Eloise's love of the flavour and the corporeality of references to Christmas films really did make me grinning. Both sister's Christmas office parties were really agreeable, and generally this is a lite hearted story that was a pleasure to read.
I really did relish this a lot and I look forward to reading more of Beth Reekles' adult books, then long as she writes them.
Thank you lot to Netgalley and One More Affiliate for this re-create which I take reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I actually enjoyed the United kingdom Christmas setting of this book and the countdown to Christmas on each chapter header was actually fun. Information technology was fun reading almost twin sisters, specially 2 being as different as Eloise and Cara. I personally could relate way more to the Christmas obsessed Eloise though! However, I just did not really connect with these characters and for much of the story they felt a little flat to me. I'm not sure if it was because it was from dual perspectives, but I just wanted all of the characters to be more fleshed out and developed.
I as well idea this book would take a little more romance in it than it did based on the description. While both sisters find beloved during the book I definitely didn't feel it was the main plot and neither relationship seemed to take much chemistry.
This volume was provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

When Christmas days plans are batty the sisters who were one time close are struggling to find time to make Christmas piece of work. No snowfall is going to keep these two apart, they only need a Christmas miracle or 2.
This was such a cute read. I definitely laughed out loud in parts but too loved how supportive and uplifting it was. Looking forward to reading more of Beth'south novels!

This novel is an adult romance prepare effectually Christmas fourth dimension, post-obit dual perspectives from Eloise and Cara, a set of twins living autonomously post-graduation in the cities of Doncaster and London. Their parents are going on holiday for Christmas, so information technology's upwardly to the twins to spend the day together and hold downwardly the festive fort. The only problem is that whilst Eloise, a principal school teacher, is full of Christmas spirit and eager to host at her flat, Cara, a workaholic climbing up the corporate ladder, is keen to skip the day altogether to chase later her new promotion, The volume besides follows both of the sisters dearest lives equally they start to autumn in love during the run upward to the 25th.
I absolutely loved Eloise. Her festive cheer is contagious and her romance with Jamie was adorable. Her storyline - and the cosy petty apartment, which I'm jealous of - was my favourite of the twins. Cara was harder to become attached to. Although nosotros can probably all relate to chasing our dreams, it was hard not to resent her mental attitude towards family, especially her sister. I exercise love a good sister storyline though; one of my favourite tropes in literature! The sister dynamic was written so beautifully, and I related a lot to the conversations that Cara and Eloise had. You couldn't help just root for them, both in their romantic escapades and their Christmas countdown. I felt like I wanted to snuggle upwardly on Eloise's sofa and share a box of chocolates with her. And considering I read this during a heatwave, that'due south an impressive testament to Beth's writing style.

The writing isn't bad - reminds me a little of Sophie Kinsella in terms of drama. Just couldn't actually appreciate the characters.
I was excited because the characters were early twenties merely for me it didn't really show what it actually feels like.
Can't say this was really my thing. It's a actually fast read and has pretty much no depth. I have a sister and we'd never treat each other like Eloise and Cara do. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book!
I didn't take high hopes because I despised the writing way of the kissing booth by this same writer but this was surprisingly okay. it wasn't anything amazing but it definitely put me in a more festive mood :)
I had trouble telling the ii sisters autonomously because they sounded virtually identical. Plot-wise, there wasn't much happening, just I really liked the British vibes.
Both women accept a new man in their lives just unfortunately there's nothing fun or interesting or even remotely romantic to be establish in what could have been a fun add-on to the story. Most of the book is tension. There is work tension, relationship tension and a lot of family tension. For that reason this would be a very hard volume to recommend equally a Christmas time read. We all know Christmas in existent life is full of enough tension that I personally would prefer a fun Christmas escape than what is to exist found in this volume. I've never read anything by the author before just I take read about how popular her book The Kissing Booth was so I was surprised to notice this book and so banal. Maybe the author was trying to hard to write her outset adult book that she went too far in leaving out the fun. It is a very short book despite being 300 pages since each affiliate is then short it reads more like a short story. From now on I'll be skipping whatever more books by this author. I received an ARC from NetGalley in substitution for an honest review.

Will say that the characters should have been older...they seemed more tardily 20s than early!
Eloise and Cara are twin sisters merely when information technology comes to this yr's Christmas plans, they are consummate opposites. Cara is a workaholic and plans to work through the holidays and Eloise is Christmas obsessed. When their parents decide to have a Christmas vacation, Eloise is hurt that information technology won't be a traditional Christmas and begs that her sister turns upwardly. With a white Christmas on the cards and a lot of sister arguments, volition Cara get dwelling house for Christmas?

With a white Christmas on the cards and a lot of sis arguments, will Cara get habitation for Christmas?
Opinion:
I idea this was a very cute and fun read. Information technology's quite short so I flew through information technology and information technology had the right amount of cheese to a Christmas novel. The romance within the book was beautiful and lighthearted only I'g used to more intense romance novels hence the lower rating. You couldn't help but hope that Eloise would take a happy Christmas and that Cara would accept a damn break. One thing I'd like to have seen was if Cara did actually get the promotion she had been working her butt off for but nonetheless the ending was a skilful round off to the story.
Y'all definitely won't be disappointed if you pick this one up for the vacation season ✨
